Sunday we met with a bunch of SIMS people for a post-graduation party at the Pyramid Brewery in Berkeley. A brewery tour started shortly after we got there, so we joined a bunch of other people in taking it.

I took pictures during the pre-tour introduction and the post-tour sampling. They wouldn’t let anyone take pictures during the tour itself, which I thought was pretty lame considering they didn’t actually show us much that can’t be seen and photographed just as easily through the windows from the sidewalk outside.

They served two beers at the tasting, a Hefe Weizen and an India Pale Ale. I not a beer drinker so it was interesting trying a couple different kinds and comparing. The first wasn’t too bad but I didn’t like the IPA at all. Sarai finished that one for me.
At the bar I had an Apricot Weizen, which is just the Hefe Weizen with added flavor. I liked it a little better, which tells me that despite my efforts at acquiring a taste for it, I can still only drink beer that doesn’t taste too much like beer. I haven’t gotten around to doing the beer sampler thing at the local pub, but I still plan to one of these days.
