I recently picked up this book, The Cocktail: 200 Fabulous Drinks. I won’t lie, I bought it for the pictures, which are gorgeous fashiony collage pieces by one of my favorite illustrators, Australian Kat MacLeod.

But it doesn’t end there. The recipes included in this little volume certainly do live up to the book’s title, most of them delicate little concoctions that would be perfect for brunch. There are fresh fruits, herbs and plenty of garnishes; Though you may have difficulty finding some ingredients, like Elderberry flower syrup or rose petal infused vodka. Many of these are really the best of that sometimes maligned genre of cocktail, The Girl Drink. And the pretty pictures don’t hurt.
