Margarita

Cranberry Margarita

Margarita

  • 1 1/2 ounce silver tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Coarse kosher salt
  • Lime slice for garnish

Shake liquid ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker and strain over ice into salt-rimmed rocks glasses. Garnish with a slice of lime.

There are a million margarita variations out there. The classic margarita recipe calls for Triple Sec, but I’ll usually use Cointreau if I’ve got it on hand. Grand Marnier also makes a great substitute. When making the drinks pictured I also added an ounce of cranberry juice to give it a little color and extra flavor.

We served these with butternut squash enchiladas, chips, and black bean salsa.
