Via Slashfood, I found a fun cocktail ingredients quiz over at AOL Food. I’m a sucker for stuff like this so I gave it a go and did pretty well, only missing one question out of 20.

The question I missed was about the ingredients in a Grasshopper, which I’ve never even had, much less made myself. I was tempted to look it up in The Craft of the Cocktail which was sitting open right next to me on my desk as I took it but, honesty being the best policy, I exercised a little self-control and made my best guess without checking.
The comments on the Slashfood post are interesting. Lots of people are trying to correct the quiz’s answers, saying things like “Been in the bar business for years and bitters does not go into a manhattan…” and “I call a little BS on the answers to some of these questions, there is no tequila in a long island tea, and OJ goes into a mai tai”. Oops.
The quiz is mostly pretty easy but there are some unexpected questions that might trip up some people. Give it a shot and post your results!

17/20. And if I’d thought about them slightly longer, I would have gotten the other two. I also would have needed to cheat to get the Grasshopper right, though.
