One of the San Francisco Cocktail Week events this year was Farmers’ Market Cocktails, an event showcasing cocktails made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. As people who enjoy eating seasonally, a local, seasonal cocktail event is right up our alley. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make it to this event this week.
On the bright side, on Tuesday I spoke to someone at CUESA, the organization hosting the event, and was told that they are considering hosting another cocktail event in late summer. I don’t know if this is going to be another one-time event, or if they’re considering doing a series of these year-round, but a regular event of this type, say four times annually, once for each season, would be awesome. Each event could focus on local ingredients in season at that time of year, and showcase some interesting uses for them in drinks and snacks.
Here’s hoping it becomes a regular thing.
