The Caipirinha, the national drink of Brazil, is normally made with just limes. In keeping with the cherry theme I have going now, I've added cherries to give it a fresh twist.
There are many, many ways to make the Old Fashioned, and no one really knows which is the original. This is my favorite version (hold the club soda, please!).
These brandied cherries are a great substitute for maraschino cherries. They look nicer, they aren't full of artificial sweeteners, and they add a little more bite to your Manhattans and Old Fashioneds.
