The first annual Slow Food Nation event is happening in San Francisco this weekend, and includes a few events of interest to the cocktail aficionado. Slow Food Nation is a not-for-profit subsidiary of Slow Food USA, a group that promotes the ideals of the Slow food movement in the US. If you’re not familiar with Slow Food, that last link does a pretty good job of explaining it.
Here are some of this weekend’s “Taste Workshops” of particular interest to Cocktailia readers:
Saturday, August 30
Throw a “Slowtail” Party for 6 Friends for Under $60
10:00 – 11:00am
American Artisan Cheeses and Microbrews
2:00 – 3:00pm
Coro Mendocino Wines & Organic Cheeses
8:00 – 9:00pm
Sunday, August 31

Slow Spirits

The happenings on Sunday August 31 wrap up with an event at Pisco Latin Lounge, a new tapas place in San Francisco (warning: their web site has obnoxious background music). The $65 price tag on this event includes two drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and they’ll be pouring “A full range of Latin and traditional cocktails, plus wines from Spain and Argentina”.
Sadly, by the time I’m posting this, nearly everything is sold out. It looks like a great time though, so keep an eye out for it next year.
